چکیده

The distribution of the c-myc protein was studied in the developing embryo from the two-somite stage to embryonic day 17 (E17). A triple labelling method was used, with a polyclonal serum recognizing the human and avian c-myc proteins as the first marker followed by Hoechst 33258 for nuclear staining and the monoclonal antibody 13F4 which reveals the avian myogenic lineage. In situ hybridization was carried out at three selected stages (E3, E6 and E8), in order to compare the distribution of myc mRNA and myc protein. The c-myc protein signal was barely detectable in blastodisc nuclei during the period of somite formation, after which it became ubiquitous in the embryonic body until E4. Myotomal cell nuclei displayed a strong signal until their organization into premuscular masses.

P-84: Evidence for Differential Expression of The Pluripotency Factors c-MYC, KLF4 and LIN28 in Normal Endometrium and in Endometriosis

Background Endometriosis is a common gynecological disease characterized by the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. This disease affects approximately 10% of women in reproductive age and is associated with pelvic pain, dysmenorrhea and infertility. The theory of involvement of stem cells is a considered new hypothesis in etiology of endometriosis. The aim of this study wa...

P-88: Assessing Expression Changes of Some Wnt Pathway Genes During Goat Early Embryonic Development

Background: The developmental competency of embryos is affected by several factors, including the developmental pathways and their elements. In mammalian species including goat, fertilized oocyte undergoes several divisions to form a structure called blastocyst. These events depend on the successful control of temporal and spatial expression of genes involved in genome activation. One of the cr...

Effect of valproic acid on JAK/STAT pathway, SOCS1, SOCS3, Bcl-xL, c-Myc, and Mcl-1 gene expression, cell growth inhibition and apoptosis induction in human colon cancer HT29 cell line.

Background and aim: Cytokines are a large family of protein messengers. These proteins induce various cellular responses. Janus kinases (JAKs) are mediators of cytokine, activated JAKs phosphorylate signal transducers, and activators of transcription (STAT) proteins that regulate cell differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis. Aberrant JAK/STAT signaling is involved in the oncogenesis of se...

Evaluation of c-Myc mRNA Expression Level in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia and Prostatic Adenocarcinoma Tissues and Its Correlation with Clinicopathological Characteristics

Background and Aims: Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most common cancers among men in Iran. Since changes in the regulation of proto-oncogenes expression are the main causes of most human cancers, including PCa, evaluating the expression of marker genes can be helpful for early diagnosis of cancer and better understanding of its etiology. The present study compared c-Myc expression level in...

Investigating the inhibitory effect of miR-34a, miR-449a, miR-1827, and miR-106b on target genes including NOTCH1, c-Myc, and CCND1 in human T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia clinical samples and cell line

Objective(s): microRNAs are small non-coding molecules that regulate gene expression in various biological processes. T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) is a malignancy accompanied with genetic aberrations and accounts for 20% of children’s and adult’s ALL. Notch signaling pathway dysregulation occurs in 60% of T-ALL cases. In the present study, we aimed to de...
